JAKARTA - The Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is known as one of the provinces that has cultural diversity. One of them is reflected in traditional weapons. Kris

Keris is not only used in other parts of Indonesia such as DIY or Central Java. Keris is also a weapon for the people of NTB. There are two types of kris in NTB, Sumbawa kris and Lombok kris. Even though they both come from the same land, they still have different characteristics. The difference lies in the shape and size.

Lombok keris has a larger size and length, about 58 to 71cm. The Sumbawa kris, on the other hand, has a relatively short size, although its shape is still large. The size of the Sumbawa keris only ranges from 34cm to 51cm.

Another weapon typical of NTB is the Tulup. Tulu is a chopstick-like weapon that is often used by people for hunting in the forest. Tulips are made of small bamboo measuring 35 to 50 centimeters, which has been pre-punched.

The hole serves to put a small bullet called ancar, which is made of wood or other. This bullet has been smeared with poison from the tatar tree sap.

Before being used for hunting, Tulips are often prayed for and given special incantations to produce lots of game. Tulip storage places are known as tumbles.

The seesaw has a length of approximately two meters. Its main function is to hunt animals in the forest. However, this weapon is also often used as a means of self-protection from bad people or wild animals.
