JAKARTA - Director James Gunn revealed the potential for story development for Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.

To Deadline, Gunn is open with plans for Suicide Squad to be made again in a spinoff format. “We're working on another one, that universe-connected television show. I can't say much," said James Gunn.

In addition, the Peacemaker series which is currently airing also did not escape the attention of the 55-year-old director.

"There's a good chance going there (Peacemaker's second season). Right now we are the biggest hit series in the world," said James Gunn.

"The series is doing well and we're excited, we're excited to do it," continued Gunn.

Reportedly, James Gunn has spoken with HBO Max to create a character-only series in Suicide Squad. However, the HBO has not explained whether this series will be produced soon or not.

James Gunn is currently in Atlanta producing Guardians of the Galaxy 3. He really enjoys writing and working on superhero series and films despite the pandemic.

“I was getting bored during the lockdown, I was depressed and had a lot of worry until now, I needed something for myself. That's the reason why (Peacemaker) was created. I needed something to calm myself down,” explained James Gunn.

Peacemaker tells of Christopher Smith, played by John Cena, someone who believes in creating peace, he is willing to do anything, including killing.

The Peacemaker series is the first spinoff of Suicide Squad that James Gunn worked on in 2020 after editing Suicide Squad.
