JAKARTA - World thrash metal giant Testament has parted ways with their longtime drummer, Gene Hoglan.
The San Francisco Bay Area metal veteran announced Hoglan's departure from the group's lineup in a social media post Friday.
"To all of our Testament fans around the world," the statement began.

"Rather than Testament having to reschedule a future date (again) or Gene having to cancel his own plans, we have decided to separate amicably.
We understand that this announcement will cause some disappointment but rest assured: No drama, just the best vibes between us. As Gene embarks on a new chapter, we thank him from the bottom of our hearts for bringing Testament and heavy metal the strongest drumming ever. .
We have no doubts he will continue to bring this as much as he can. Gene Hoglan will always be family and we ask you all to join us and wish him all the best in the future! Rest assured that we will continue to add high profile personnel to Testament and will soon reveal it!
"We'll see you all on tour soon!"
Hoglan initially played drums on Testament's 1997 album Demonic, but did not last long enough to tour with the band.
He only officially joined the band in 2011 and has played on the last three albums: Dark Roots Of Earth (2012), Brotherhood Of The Snake (2016) and Titans Of Creation (2020).
