Legendary Rocker Meat Loaf Dies

JAKARTA - Rock singer and actor Meat Loaf died on Thursday, January 20, United States time.

This sad news was conveyed by Meat Loaf through its Facebook page on Thursday. The family did not explain the reason for his departure and the specific time he died.

The family only explained that they had seen Meat Loaf for the last time. "We know how much he (Meat Loaf) means to you and we really appreciate your love and support as we go through this time of grief," said Meat Loaf.

Meat Loaf who was born with the name Marvin Lee Aday is a singer who has released various albums, one of which is Bat Out of Hell. He is also known for several roles such as the films The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Fight Club.

Throughout his career, the man who was born in 1947 often talked about his health condition while playing music. He once believed he could not release an album or make a tour because of his health problems.

In 2011, he fainted during a concert in Pittsburgh. Then he also experienced the same thing again in 2016.

Meat Loaf's passing was accompanied by deep sorrow from the musicians. Singer Cher paid tribute to the rocker when he performed with Meat Loaf.

“Enjoying time with Meat Loaf when we sang Dead Ringer. I feel sorry for his family, friends, and fans. Is it just me or the great people in the art world who die every day,” said Cher. 

Meat Loaf died at the age of 74.
