JAKARTA - Directors Garin Nugroho and Hestu Saputra will present a new film entitled President's Bike.
This musical-themed film tells the story of Binar (Ariel Tatum) who goes to Papua to calm down. There, he meets Saul (Arnold Aner Asmuruf), Edo (Elias Fortunatus Padwa) and Uben (Anthonio Ramandei).
Judging from the title, producer Avesina Soebli combines the viral story about the President's Bike and the dream story of children who are often underestimated.
"If the producer reads it is marketing, something viral includes the President's bicycle. We make films that Indonesian families can enjoy,” said Avesina Soebli on Monday, December 20 at a press screening in Jakarta.
Garin was appointed as director because of his 40 years of experience including presenting stories set in Papua. Garin welcomed the invitation, who wanted to direct a children's film.
“Want to celebrate 40 years of work with joy, lightness, fun. And commemorating that, I want to return to the children," said Garin Nugroho.
With a musical genre, producer Octav Panggabean also prepared 17 original songs sung by the President's bicycle players.
The result is a musical drama that combines the chemistry of the actors and is pampered with the sights of Papua.
The President's Bicycle film will be screened in Indonesian cinemas starting December 23, 2021.
