Dear Nathan: Thank You Salma So Adult Point Jefri Nichol - Amanda Rawles Facing Social Issues

JAKARTA - Jefri Nichol and Amanda Rawles reunite in the final film of the trilogy Dear Nathan: Thank You Salma. A premiere trailer was released on Tuesday, December 14th.

The Dear Nathan franchise received positive praise, so Rapi Films' desire to close the series of stories with a mature issue. Adapted from a novel by Erisca Febriani, the script was written by Bagus Bramanti and directed by Kuntz Agus.

“We pinned one important issue, this is a challenge for all of us to deliver all of that in a warm room. The audience will definitely talk about the issue for a long time but still enjoy it as a drama," said Kuntz Agus at a virtual press conference on Tuesday, December 14.

Nathan and Salma then became characters that became the talk. "Nathan and Salma are growing together between the reader and the characters," said Erisca Febriani.

Amanda and Nichol also welcomed their reunion in Dear Nathan: Thank You Salma. They have been living the same character for five years and the story is developing.

“When I watched the trailer I felt a different emotion. I have no reason to refuse because I feel close to the characters Salma and Dear Nathan. Moreover, the film Dear Nathan was a stepping stone for my career in the film world,” said Amanda Rawles.

“The story is developing. I really like that Erisca makes stories that are not love, but there are social issues that are raised so that young and old viewers can know the reality," continued Nichol.

"The roots of his activism he (Nathan) was formed from the two. What I regret, at that time I was lacking in research on mental health, so that's my sin to atone here.

In this two-minute trailer, Nathan (Jefri Nichol) and Salma (Amanda Rawles) enter college. Nathan became a person who became more courageous and even involved in a demonstration and was busy with the community.

Seeing Nathan's unchanging nature, Salma chose to take a break from their relationship. On the other hand, Salma starts to get close to Afkar (Ardhito Pramono), Salma's classmate who is good at music and cares about Salma.

Nathan also wants to defend Salma, but he also faces a sexual harassment case that Zanna (Indah Permatasari) cannot ignore.

Besides Amanda and Jefri Nichol, this film also features Indah Permatasari, Ardhito Pramono, Diandra Agatha, and Susan Sameeh. Dear Nathan: Thank You Salma will hit theaters starting January 13, 2022. Check out the first trailer below:
