Gong Myung Starts Military Service, NCT's Doyoung Says Farewell

JAKARTA - Actor Gong Myung began his mandatory military service on Tuesday, December 14. He will start his first month of training before becoming an active duty soldier.

His agency, Saram Entertainment stated that the time and place where Gong Myung went will not be announced to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Through the agency's social media, a video shows Gong Myung bidding farewell. "Hello, I'm actor Gong Myung. I am carrying out my military service to fulfill my obligations nationally."

“When the day comes, I will meet you. I will return with a healthy mind and condition so please look forward to it. I also thank the fans who love me and my project and tell me they love it. Thank you,” said Gong Myung.

He also shared the first photo with his hair removed. Gong Myung added, “I will return well!”

NCT's Doyoung, who is known as Gong Myung's younger brother, also shared a photo with his older brother from behind.

He wrote, “My brother went to the military today. When you return, I will greet you with my heart. Come home safely."

Gong Myung who was born in 1994 has starred in various films and dramas. He made his debut with a web drama titled After School: Lucky or Not.

After that, his name became known through several titles such as Extreme Job, Drinking Solo, Be Melodramatic, and most recently the drama Lovers of the Red Sky.
