JAKARTA - Director Lee Jang Hoon wrote and directed his latest film, Miracle: Letters to the President. This is his second work after debuting with Be With You in 2018.

The film is adapted from the true story of the creation of Yangwon Station - the first private train station built by local residents in 1988.

Miracle: Letters to the President is set in a small village without a train station. Since childhood, Joon Kyung (Park Jeong Min) sent a letter to the President asking that his village be made a station.

As an adult, he has sent at least 54 letters but he has never received an answer. Joon Kyung refuses to give up even though his father, Tae Yoon (Lee Sung Min) warns that it will not happen.

With the help of his older brother, Bo Kyung (Lee Soo Kyung), he finally studies diligently by going to school in a five-hour journey. Joon Kyung also meets Ra Hee (Im Yoon Ah), his classmate who always encourages Joon Kyung to do anything.

Miracle: Letters to the President focuses on the relationships of the main characters. Starting from Joon Kyung's love story with Ra Hee which developed into a single thread towards the story of making the station.

From the start, this coming of age story appears simple and romantic. Not only with Ra Hee, Joon Kyung also looks cute with his brother, Bo Kyung. The dynamics of family and love relationships are ups and downs in Joon Kyung's life.

At first, Park Jeong Min didn't seem like a high school character but over time he got used to it.

One that attracted attention was Lee Soo Kyung's acting which was very strong and had a big role. Park Jeong Min's chemistry with Im Yoon Ah also looks adorable throughout the film.

Unfortunately, these supporting characters are here to support Joon Kyung's story only. It looks like Ra Hee who doesn't appear in the second half and Tae Yoon who doesn't have much screen time at the beginning of the story.

This melancholic story is supported by an '80s-style script and production design. Miracle is able to make the audience feel empathetic and want to support Joon Kyung to realize his dreams.

Miracle: Letters of the President is a warm presentation of great hopes that can inspire the audience.
