Adele Breaks UK Music Charts Record With New Album

JAKARTA - Singer Adele broke records in the UK music charts with her latest album, 30. Released on November 19, this album managed to get 261.000 copies in the UK.

Citing Reuters on Monday, November 29, this sale is the largest number for a female singer album including Adele's previous album, 25 in 2015.

Not only that, the album 30 immediately ranked the highest on the UK charts when it was released in the first week. As a result, the Official Charts company named Adele as the singer with the entire album sitting in the first place.

“(Album 30) is her fourth album at No. 1; she took first place on the Official Albums chart with all albums, a record for a female singer," reads the Official Charts statement.

In terms of streaming, album 30 is also the most-streamed album this week. “55.7 million plays for 12 songs.”

Adele was in the first position for six weeks with the first single, Easy on Me. In addition, songs from album 30 such as Oh My God and I Drink Wine are also in the Top 5.

Previously, Adele's 30 was named the best-selling album of 2021 in the United States.

Within three days, Billboard says these sales were accumulated from traditional, streaming, and track equivalents. The album 30 is said to have sold more than 575 thousand copies and will continue to grow.
