Dian Sastrowardoyo Is Comfortable Being A Housewife, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - Dian Sastrowardoyo enjoys her role as a mother to teach children to care about the environment by doing simple things such as planting, to sorting garbage and using environmentally friendly clothes. Diane confessed

"Mother is a teacher in the family. So, when we talk about education, we also talk that it starts from the family. Environmental issues are really important things to raise," Dian said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 26.

"Besides, we now feel very separated from nature. So, I feel that in order to have an impact we have to start, and we can start with our family first," he added.

Dian admitted that she was very far from this issue. He said that his heart was moved a lot after watching a variety of documentaries which he thought were able to increase awareness widely.

"In my opinion, to increase collective awareness and sensitivity, we need to slowly start, for example from lifestyle, fashion, to the lifestyle of watching movies in cinemas. Education does not only happen in schools, but also happens in our daily lifestyle," said Dian .

When asked what the role of filmmakers in voicing environmental issues is, the actor of the short film "Laut Bercepat" (2017) said that filmmakers can start from the awareness that the films they produce have an educational function, including for environmental issues.

"Because there are still few people who are sensitive to the urgency of this environmental issue and it seems that our job as filmmakers is also to increase public awareness through the films and stories that we produce," said Dian.

"For example, Ms. Gita (Fara, producer) and Mas Arfan (Sabran, director) make a documentary about indigenous forest fighters, if for example I am (involved in) fiction films, maybe I can choose projects that still raise environmental issues," Dian Sastrowardoyo added.
