Bu Broto Inn Holds Premiere In Yogyakarta, Sultan Hamengkubuwono X: Brings Memories Of Its Own

JAKARTA – Adapted from the 1980 television film series, the film Losmen Bu Broto was directed by Ifa Isfansyah and Eddy Cahyono. After holding the Gala Premiere in Jakarta, this film that breathes culture and tradition will premiere at XXI Empire, Yogyakarta, on Saturday, November 13.

Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Hemas attended this event. In addition, a number of actors who played characters in the film Losmen Bu Broto were also present.

Ahead of the screening, the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X recalled watching the old version of the television series Losmen Bu Broto. For him, the events of the afternoon brought special memories.

“For me, today's events bring special memories. Where have I watched this series on television. I hope, by taking the cultural background of Yogyakarta, this film can be successful wherever it is located. Hopefully, this film can build a good promotion of Yogyakarta, so that it will provide more value, where we build Yogya as a city of culture and tourism," said Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.

The film Losmen Bu Broto is almost 100 percent shot in Yogyakarta. According to Mathias Muchus, the inn in the film's story is located in Kota Gede, which is known as a unique place. Starting from the architectural buildings that are closely related to the culture and traditions of Yogyakarta to the culinary arts.

“I hope the dialogues are fluid but also interspersed with egalitarian values. Since this describes an inn in Jogja, I also hope that this principle will also be reflected in this film,” added Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.

The film Losmen Bu Broto tells the story of the inn manager, namely the family of Bu Broto (Maudy Koenaedi) and Pak Broto (Mathias Muchus), Pur the first child (Putri Marino), Sri the second child (Maudy Ayunda), and Tarjo the third child (Baskara Mahendra). The family conflict in this film is interestingly packaged in the midst of arrival and service to inn guests.

The reason why the film produced by Paragon Pictures and Ideosource was premiered in Yogyakarta was explained by Andi Boediman as the producer of Ideosource. According to him, Yogyakarta is related to the story in the film Losmen Bu Broto.

Besides that, Maudy Koesnaedi also talked about the process of shooting this film. He said, shooting the film Losmen Bu Broto was the first time he left the house since the COVID-19 pandemic. Mathias Muchus also said that the filming went smoothly and was supported by the residents around the shooting location.
