JAKARTA - Raisa released Someday which is the fruit of collaboration with South Korean musician Sam Kim, musician and arranger Jukjae. Sam Kim is known as a young musician whose songs are often used in hit Korean Dramas, such as Who Are You for the series Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Love Me Like That for the series Nevertheless.

It all started with Raisa's desire to have collaborators across Asian countries. Raisa and Sam Kim's meeting started from Instagram, exchanging music references until finally deciding to have an online workshop. The process of working on the song began in early 2021. The condition of the two being separated by distance, namely Jakarta-Seoul, pandemic conditions and their respective schedules, made the new composing process intense starting in the middle of the year.

“Raisa and I regularly communicate via telephone, chat, or video calls, when planning songs. The recording is done in real-time, even though we are in different locations but we can discuss and record live. The result is very satisfying and I want to thank Raisa for her beautiful voice in this song," said Sam Kim, a singer born February 19, 1998.

“Working with Sam Kim was great fun. Didn't expect our casual chat to turn into a collaboration. We have the same vision, hopefully this song can lead us both to meet new listeners in Indonesia and Korea," Raisa said.

Someday tells the story of a couple who have high egos so they can't convey their hearts to each other properly. For the song itself, Jukjae as a producer drew some slow R&B references. The mood of this sweet but also mellow song has the feel of a Korean drama soundtrack. Jukjae is a figure who helped Sam Kim in the album Sun and Moon (2018).

“Departing from Raisa's idea, we started the project communication with Antenna as Sam Kim's label and agency. This is not the first time JUNI has collaborated with a South Korean agency, previously JUNI was the initiator of bringing the band Hyukoh to a concert in Jakarta. Continuing this work, this time we are leading a cross-country project by inviting Sam Kim," said Adryanto Pratono as CEO of JUNI Records.

Someday is a breakthrough for JUNE and Raisa this year. He sees this song as a bridge to connect Raisa's fans and also fans of the soundtrack of the Korean series Sam Kim.

“This is our opportunity in JUNE to work with musicians of today's Korean Wave generation. I, Raisa and we at JUNE hope this is the beginning for another collaboration in the future. We always dream of collaborating with more collaborators from the world's industry,” concluded Adryanto Pratono.

The song Someday is available on digital streaming platforms starting today, November 12th. The release will be followed by music videos made in two countries and premiered on Raisa's YouTube channel (Raisa6690) on the same day at 17:00 WIB.
