The Value Of Imports Increased 16.54 Percent To 21.94 Billion US Dollars In October 2024

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the performance of import value in October 2024 reached 21.94 billion US dollars, up 16.54 percent in month to Month (MTM) when compared to the previous month.

Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adinegar Widyasanti said that the performance of import values ​​was driven by non -oil and gas (oil and gas) imports which reached 18.27 billion US dollars, up 12.13 percent (MTM) or an increase of 18.14 percent compared to October 2023.

Meanwhile, the value of oil and gas imports reached 3.67 billion US dollars, an increase of 44.98 percent (MTM) or up 14.32 percent compared to October 2023.

"The monthly increase in import value is driven by an increase in non -oil and gas imports which contributes 10.05 percent, and an increase in the value of oil and gas imports with a share of 6.04 percent," Amalia said at a press conference, Friday, November 15.

Amalia said that of the ten main groups of non -oil and gas items in October 2024, only the machine/mechanical equipment group and their parts experienced a decline of 62.1 million US dollars or 2.09 percent compared to September 2024.

While the engine/electric equipment group and their parts experienced the largest increase of 590.1 million US dollars or 29.20 percent.

Furthermore, Amalia outlines when viewed annually, the performance of Indonesia's import value rose 17.49 percent year on year (yoy) or when compared to the same period in the previous year which reached 18.67 billion US dollars.

Amalia conveyed an annual increase in import value both in oil and gas commodity and non-oil commodities due to an increase in volume and increased aggregate prices.

Meanwhile, all import values ​​according to the class of use of goods from January to October 2024 experienced an increase in the same period the previous year.

Where the raw material/auxiliary group increased the highest of 7,210.2 million US dollars or 5.40 percent, followed by capital goods 1,514.2 million US dollars or 4.69 percent and consumption goods 888.9 million US dollars or 5.08 percent .
