JAKARTA - Hypertension is one of the health problems that often occur in travelers during the Lebaran season. This condition is often not realized, even though it can increase the risk of serious complications if not immediately treated.

Therefore, health checks during the homecoming journey are an important step to ensure that the body's condition remains stable.

Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono revealed that high blood pressure or hypertension is the most common complaint found in travelers. This is known from the results of the Free Health Check (CKG) program conducted at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta.

"I saw at the health post, especially the highest cases were hypertension, then there were also diabetics, and some suffered from influenza," said Deputy Minister of Health Dante in Jakarta, Tuesday.

According to Dante, the pilgrims who were detected had health complaints immediately received further examinations and medicines from the health post available at the station.

"Hopefully we hope that everything is safe and reaches its destination, while conducting health checks and is free of charge. So, we combine health checks during the homecoming and CKG," he said.

He added that the health examination facility at Gambir Station has been equipped with adequate facilities according to standards. There are several stages of examination that allow travelers to check the condition of the body thoroughly while waiting for departure time.

"There are complete tables for CKG, there are tables 1, 2, and examination tables. From those who return home, monitoring is also carried out, they can wait for CKG to be done to see how their condition is," he explained.

This program is also in line with this year's homecoming theme which emphasizes the aspects of safety and comfort, especially in terms of health.

In addition to general examinations, the CKG post at Gambir Station also provides dental health services. If conditions are found that require further treatment, travelers are advised to continue treatment at the nearest health facility in the destination area or after returning to Jakarta.

"While waiting for departure, they can check their health. Later, if there is something that needs to be monitored, they can do treatment in their respective villages or later after returning to Jakarta to get treatment again," said Deputy Minister of Health Dante.

To access this service, the public can register through the Ministry of Health's Satu Sehat application or directly come to the location by bringing an identity card.

"Offline can, come directly, just show your ID card, give it to the officer, free, online registration can also be done so that you can later do an optimal health check," said Deputy Minister of Health Dante.

Meanwhile, the Head of Gambir Station Ganjar Mairizal said that as of 11.30 WIB, the number of departing passengers had reached 18,135 people.

"Most of them are heading towards Central Java, especially the destinations of Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang. Then some in East Java, especially Surabaya," said Ganjar.
