JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) said that based on the results of the Free Health Check (CKG) so far 50 percent of women and 25 percent of men have central obesity, so they risk becoming other catalysts such as heart disease and stroke.
Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that since the launch of the CKG Program in February 2025, more than 8.2 million participants have been used, with 62.2 female and male participants only 37.7 percent.
"The problem of dental health turned out to be very high, including myself just realizing it. But more importantly, the other three big problems with hypertension, diabetes, and obesity are the main risk factors for heart disease and stroke. These two diseases are the number one and two causes of death in Indonesia," said Minister of Health Budi as reported by ANTARA.
Data from the Ministry of Health as of June 12, 2025 showed that 1 in 5 participants experienced hypertension, 5.9 percent suffered from diabetes mellitus, and 1 in 2 participants experienced tooth and mouth problems, ranging from cavities, seesaw teeth, to gums falling.
The central authority, said the Minister of Health, is calculated based on measurements of the waist circumference, namely >90 cm for men and >80 cm for women. He reminded that this non-communicable disease not only attacks the elderly, but also begins to emerge in the younger age group.
"Even 1 in 3 people over the age of 40 have hypertension and 1 in 10 have diabetes," said the Minister of Health.
Therefore, the Minister of Health reminded the public not to wait for illness before checking. CKG, he said, is part of Quick Win President Prabowo Subianto who targets to improve the quality of public health through early detection and prevention education so that people do not fall ill.

If we know earlier, we can fix it. Either by changing the lifestyle or by taking treatment. Healthy is investment. And this is a direct message from the President: take care of your health so that the Indonesian people can work, be productive, and bring our country into a developed country in 2045," said the Minister of Health.
He also appealed to the public to live a healthy lifestyle, reduce consumption of sweet, salty, and fatty foods, actively move at least 30 minutes per day, routinely check pressure and blood sugar, and maintain dental health with 4M principles, namely rubbed teeth, limiting sugar, checking teeth regularly, and consuming fruits and vegetables.
The CKG has been implemented at nearly 10 thousand health centers in 38 provinces. The highest participation came from Central Java, East Java, and West Java, which contributed around 60 percent of the total participants. On the other hand, West Papua, Central Papua, and Papua Mountains recorded the lowest participation.
Similarly, the Director General of Primary Health and Community Affairs of the Ministry of Health, Endang Sumiwi, said that the CKG Program is adaptive and is adjusted to individual risks.
If someone asks, 'how come my friend has a heart test, am I not?' it's because we adjust to our age and health conditions. But all participants will definitely get basic services, such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar, eyes, ears, and mental health," said Endang.
The public is advised to take advantage of this program through the nearest puskesmas or register through the One Sehat Mobile application. "CKG is not just an examination, but the beginning of a healthy lifestyle transformation for all Indonesian people," said Endang.
