BPOM Ensures The Quality Of Food Industry Production For The Success Of Free Nutrition Eating Programs

BPOM ensures the quality of food production in Tempo Scan (Dinno/VOI) subsidiaries

JAKARTA - The Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) is one of the government's main initiatives in increasing the fulfillment of community nutrition, especially for the nation's successors.

This program is designed to ensure that the younger generation can access nutritious food for free to overcome various nutritional problems in Indonesia, such as stunting which is still a major concern.

Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), Taruna Ikrar stated that support from various parties, including companies and the public sector, is urgently needed so that this program runs in a sustainable manner.

His party also ensures that companies carry out the practice of making good medicines and food according to the certificates they provide, as part of the initiative to fulfill nutrition through MBG.

"In the MBG program, which is President Prabowo Subianto's main program, there are various nutritional fulfillment schemes, one of which is public participation and the company," he explained during the Working Visit of the Head of BPOM to PT Kian Mulia Manunggal (Tempo Scan Group) in Cikarang, West Java, Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

In supporting the MBG program, Taruna appealed to how companies engaged in the food sector also contribute in the form of the so-called Free Nutrition Food program through the mutual cooperation program.

"I hope that this activity will also foster contributions from the public in a sustainable manner, so that MBG can become a community movement and can continue to be carried out. Because, if you rely on the government budget alone, MBG can only be implemented for about five years," he explained.

BPOM's visit to one of the subsidiaries of the Tempo Scan Group, namely PT Kian Mulia Manunggal, today is also to ensure that the company meets all standards set by BPOM in its certification.

Based on BPOM observations, the company can maintain food and medicine security produced. This company can be said to be one of the nation's assets that needs to be supported, because of its contribution to national food security.

On the same occasion, the President Commissioner and Founder of Tempo Scan Group, Handojo S. Muljadi said that with facilities in the form of 4 subsidiaries and 6 production sites, his party is ready to support the MBG program to overcome a number of nutritional problems, for example the issue of stunting, which is recorded at 21.6 percent in the country.

Therefore, his party is working with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to build a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). Handojo hopes that BPOM will collaborate in ensuring the quality and safety of its food.
