JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food and Agriculture Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) said that the building of the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) located on the mountain would be regulated before it operated.

"We will tidy up the village cooperative building that is not appropriate, such as on the mountain," said Zulhas as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 14.

According to him, by the end of August, the target for the completion of the Red and White Kopdes building is 35 thousand, so that it can operate in September 2026.

He explained that the Red and White Kopdes building is a government asset and can later be used as an "offtaker" or absorber of the production of farmers and fishermen.

"This Red and White Village Cooperative is an offtaker as stated by President Prabowo," he said.

Zulhas explained that for 2027, the government will also build around 30-35 thousand KDMP in villages that have not been built.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto targeted that as many as 30,000 Red and White Village and Neighborhood Cooperatives (KDKMP) could operate optimally by the end of 2026.

He said the target was set to strengthen cooperatives as the people's economic center, as well as strengthen the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the village level.

"Our target is 30,000 cooperatives operating optimally by the end of 2026. This is a target," said the President at the 2026 MPR RI Annual Meeting and Joint Meeting of the DPR-DPD RI at the MPR/DPR RI Building.

Currently, as many as 10,000 KDKMP are operating. Of these, 3,300 cooperatives have been operating optimally, while the rest are still in the adjustment phase.

According to him, a cooperative that operates optimally means that all supporting facilities are available, ranging from electricity and water to digital systems to monitor stocks centrally.
