APPI Unites Welding Entrepreneurs, Creates Upgraded Welding Workshop and Strengthens Domestic Industry

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Welding Entrepreneurs Association (APPI) was officially declared as an organization that brings together welding business actors from across Indonesia with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the national industry, improving the quality of welding workshop businesses, and encouraging the use of domestic products.

The APPI Declaration was initiated by APPI Founder, Budi Harta Winata, who was also entrusted to become the first Chairman of APPI. The election of Budi Harta Winata was the initial milestone in building a platform that is able to unite welding entrepreneurs from Sabang to Merauke so that they are more professional, competitive, and contribute to national economic growth.

In his remarks, Budi Harta Winata emphasized that APPI exists not only as a professional organization, but as a strategic partner of the government in building a strong welding industry ecosystem.

"APPI was born to unite all Indonesian welding entrepreneurs. We want to raise the status of welding workshops to be upgraded, have good standards, improve the quality of human resources, expand the use of domestic products, and create wider employment opportunities for the Indonesian people," he said in a written statement, Saturday, August 8.

The APPI declaration received direct support from the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, who emphasized the importance of siding with the national industry. On this occasion, the Minister of MSMEs conveyed that local entrepreneurs must be hosts in their own country through strengthening business capacity, improving competitiveness, and close collaboration between the government and the business world.

This support is an encouragement for APPI to strengthen the national welding industry through improving workforce competence, certification, business digitization, technological innovation, and strengthening the domestic industry supply chain.

APPI is also committed to building synergy with ministries, institutions, the education sector, SOEs, the private sector, and all stakeholders so that the Indonesian welding industry is able to compete at the regional and global levels.

Through this declaration, APPI invites all Indonesian welding entrepreneurs to join a common movement to realize a modern, quality, independent welding industry, and become an important pillar of national development.
