BATANG - President Prabowo Subianto plans to hold a clean city competition as part of efforts to improve cleanliness and environmental quality throughout Indonesia.

He said the award would be given to five cities with the best cleanliness level.
"We will make a clean city competition. The cleanest city (order) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, we will give incentives if we can Rp. 20 billion (for) the five cleanest cities," said Prabowo.
In addition to the top five, Prabowo said, the government will also provide incentives to cities that rank sixth to tenth. Each of these areas is planned to receive assistance of IDR 10 billion.
According to him, the incentive fund can be used by local governments to strengthen sanitation management facilities, such as the procurement of garbage trucks and heavy equipment.
"He will look for trucks, excavators and so on," he said.
Prabowo also asked the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto to check the availability of excavators produced by PT Pindad which can later be distributed to the regions.
