JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) revealed that it would accelerate the issuance of free land certificates for low-income people (MBR).

In the initial phase, the cross-sector land registration acceleration program is prioritized for 1.1 million beneficiaries.

Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid explained that the acceleration of free certification will be carried out together with the Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), the Ministry of Housing and Settlements (PKP) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

At the same time, his party has also signed a Joint Circular (SEB) between the Ministry of ATR/BPN of the Ministry of PKP and BPS to encourage the effectiveness of the same crime.

"Through the signing of this SEB, the Ministry of ATR/BPN fully supports the implementation of accelerating cross-sectoral land registration for low-income people. We want to ensure that people not only have decent houses, but also legal certainty over their land," said Nusron as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Thursday, July 23.

Nusron said that technically the implementation of MBR land certification is divided into three main clusters, namely the Government Assistance Program, Bank Financing through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) and the Self-Managed Cluster.

For the initial phase, the government is targeting the completion of the legitimacy of land assets from the Swadaya Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) database for the period 2015-2024.

The government noted that the track record of BSPS recipients in the last nine years includes approximately 1.1 million MBR houses that will complete the legality of their land.

"Of the 1.1 million houses in the range of 2015-2024, this is the first we are targeting. We will also complete 45,000 beneficiary houses based on the BSPS 2025 data, as well as 400,000 beneficiary houses in the BSPS 2026 data," he said.

In line with the plan, data synchronization and calibration are crucial points that will be considered to ensure that certificates are targeted and to prevent overlapping ownership.

Through the certainty of the legal rights to the land, the government hopes that the beneficiaries will not only obtain decent housing, but also be able to utilize the land certificate to improve the economic welfare of the family.
