JAKARTA - The construction of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South Toll Road Package 2A is nearing completion.
Until the end of June 2026, the construction progress of the project carried out by PT Hutama Karya Infrastructure (HKI) together with the Operation Cooperation (KSO) WIKA-PP-KMK-HKI has reached 84 percent.
Entering the final phase of construction, one of the works that is the focus is the installation of a girder or bridge support beam over the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road (CCT) which until now remains operational to serve traffic.
The work is one of the biggest challenges in completing the project because it is carried out in a high-risk area with ongoing vehicle activities.
HKI Corporate Secretary Resnu Aditya Wuladarman said that in addition to completing the rigid pavement (concrete road pavement) work in the main road area of Zone 3 and Zone 4, HKI is also completing a number of structural works which are an important stage towards the completion of the project.
"One of the other jobs that is quite challenging is the installation of girders in areas that are in direct contact with the Cimanggis-Cibitung Tollways (CCT) which is currently operating," said Resmi as quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, July 15.
He said that out of the total 24 planned spans, there were still four spans that had to be installed.
Each is located at Ramp 3, Ramp 5 and Ramp 1. The highest point of work is at Ramp 1 with a height of about 28 meters.
Resnu assessed that the work required intensive coordination with various stakeholders because it was carried out on a toll road that was still actively used by the community.
"With the challenges faced by HKI, the implementation of this work is carried out by prioritizing the aspects of occupational safety, technical supervision and traffic engineering so that construction can continue safely and under control," he said.
In addition to structural work, the completion of concrete road pavement is also being accelerated as part of the final phase of the construction of the toll road section.
The existence of the South Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road Package 2A is expected to strengthen connectivity in the Jakarta and West Java regions.
Not only that, the road infrastructure is also expected to become an alternative route to reduce congestion in the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Corridor, which has been one of the busiest roads in Indonesia.
The toll road is also projected to facilitate community mobility and inter-regional logistics distribution.
So that it can increase travel efficiency and support economic growth in the surrounding area.
The company emphasized that it would continue to accelerate the completion of the project while prioritizing construction quality, work safety, and coordination with all related parties so that construction could be completed according to target.
