JAKARTA - Perum Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani ensures the readiness to distribute rice food assistance for the period July to September 2026 to support food security and maintain the welfare of the beneficiaries.
Rizal said the food assistance program was resumed, but its implementation was still awaiting official assignment from the government which is being processed through the National Food Agency (Bapanas).
"Oh yes, this assistance continues. We are waiting for the assignment to be down from Bapanas," said Rizal as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 14.
He ensured that Bulog was ready to distribute rice food assistance during that period after the government assignment and official budget support were issued.
Rizal said that although Bulog had a rice stock of around 5.4 million tons, distribution could not begin before the allocation of additional spending budget (ABT) was approved by the Ministry of Finance.
According to him, Bapanas has not been able to issue assignments to Bulog before the certainty of the budget is available so that all administrative stages must be completed first according to government regulations.
Rizal emphasized that Bulog's stock and distribution network readiness allows the distribution of food assistance to be implemented immediately once the assignment and budget support are issued.
Meanwhile, Rizal ensured that the distribution of food assistance for the February and March allocations had been completed so that Bulog was now preparing to carry out the next assignment in the July to September period.
"(Distribution of food assistance allocation February-March) has been completed, it has been exhausted," added Rizal.
It is known that the government continues the food assistance stimulus program for the second semester of 2026 with a total budget of Rp. 18.04 trillion.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the main program to be continued was food assistance in the form of rice for three months, namely July-September 2026.
The program is targeted to reach 33.24 million beneficiary families (KPM) with a budget requirement of Rp. 17.54 trillion. Each KPM will receive assistance in the form of 10 kilograms of rice per month.
"At the direction of President Prabowo, this program will continue for three months, namely July, August and September, for 33.24 million recipients with a budget requirement of Rp. 17.54 trillion," said Airlangga in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, June 22, 2026.
