PT Pertamina (Persero) has completed the arrangement (business streamlining) of 31 subsidiaries throughout the first half of 2026. This step is part of the company's transformation to strengthen its core business, increase efficiency, and improve corporate governance.

Director of Transformation and Business Sustainability of Pertamina, Agung Wicaksono, said the program for arranging subsidiaries was in line with the company's sustainable transformation, as well as supporting the government's policy direction and Danantara.

"This streamlining is part of Pertamina's ongoing transformation, which is also in line with the aspirations of the Government and Danantara," said Agung as quoted by Antara, Sunday, July 5.

According to Agung, the program is one of Pertamina's strategic priorities with the aim of strengthening national energy resilience, improving the quality of services to the community, and creating greater added value for the economy.

He explained that the arrangement was carried out to sharpen the focus on the core business, build competitiveness, and create sustainable corporate value.

As part of this process, Pertamina carried out mergers, divestments of non-core businesses, to the liquidation of a number of upstream oil and gas entities that were inactive (dormant). This step was taken to accelerate decision-making, increase efficiency, and strengthen corporate governance.

"Although these dormant upstream oil and gas entities have not had any expenditures for operations or salaries for directors or commissioners, we still liquidate them as part of efforts to clean up the structure of the Pertamina Group," he said.

Agung emphasized that the program for arranging subsidiaries does not only stop at corporate actions, but also includes a comprehensive transformation to improve competitiveness, quality of governance, and services to the community.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Corporate Communication Vice President Muhammad Baron ensured that all the arrangement process was carried out by prioritizing the principles of good corporate governance.

According to him, every decision is also accompanied by the implementation of comprehensive risk management and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

In its implementation, Pertamina also coordinates with law enforcement officers, auditors, Danantara, BP BUMN, various related agencies, and internal stakeholders, including labor unions.
