JAKARTA - The recovery of one of the large power plants is an important news behind the improvement in electricity conditions on the island of Java.

President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo revealed that one large plant owned by a PLN partner that had previously experienced technical disruptions has now been successfully restored and is supplying electricity to the Java system.

"Last night one large plant was successfully restored and synchronized with the electricity system on Java Island," Darmawan told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, before meeting President Prabowo Subianto, Monday, June 22.

Previously, PLN revealed that two large plants owned by company partners had technical problems and were forced to leave the system. The disruption was one of the factors that triggered the rotating blackout in a number of regions.

PLN admitted that it immediately deployed a team with the plant manager to make repairs. The results began to be seen after one of the units was able to operate again.

The return of the plant provides additional electricity supply for the Java system, which has been under pressure for the past few days.

PLN said the recovery process is still ongoing. The company also strengthened supervision of PLN-owned power plants and private partners to maintain the reliability of electricity supply.
