JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) reported that there were 3.3 million new customers added throughout 2025, bringing the total number of PLN customers to 96.2 million.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said this growth not only came from regular connections, but was also strengthened through various programs to expand access to electricity, such as the Village Electricity Program (Lisdes), New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL) from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), and the Light Up The Dream (LUTD) program funded by PLN employee donations.

"In addition to expanding energy access, the increase in the number of customers also contributed positively to customer connection revenue, which was recorded at IDR 2.24 trillion in 2025, or grew 28.4 percent compared to 2024," he said, quoted Monday, June 8.

He added that the growth in the number of PLN customers occurred in various segments, where household customers contributed the most with an increase of 2.74 million customers or about 3.2 percent year on year yoy, from 84.66 million to 87.40 million customers.

On the other hand, the increase in economic activity has led to an increase in customers in the business segment of around 8.8 percent year-on-year, from 5.15 million to 5.60 million customers.

Meanwhile, the number of industrial customers increased by around 18.6 percent year-on-year, from 253,000 to 300,000 customers, reflecting the increasing energy needs to support production activities and the development of national industries.

"This increase in the number of customers is an indicator of the growth of economic activities of the community and the business world in Indonesia, as well as reflecting that the development of electricity infrastructure has been utilized by various layers of society," added Darmawan.

Not only that, the social segment increased by about 4 percent from 2.09 million to 2.17 million customers and the government segment increased from 629,000 to 659,000 customers or increased by about 4.8 percent thanks to the increase in electricity connections at social facilities and public services.

"In the future, PLN will continue to strengthen the electricity infrastructure, expand access to energy, and improve the reliability of electricity supply to support the equitable development, inclusive and sustainable economic growth throughout Indonesia," concluded Darmawan.
