JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of 222 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or Free Nutrition Meal (MBG) kitchens in various regions of Indonesia.
Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said that the location of the SPPG construction was not determined by the PU Ministry itself. He said that his party coordinated with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
"The determination of the point, right, is determined together with the Ministry of Home Affairs and BGN. So the mandate was originally 3T, right, we talked about ABPN, yes. Dody explained that the construction of the MBG kitchen was carried out with a fairly short target time, so that the PU Ministry focused on land preparation and construction. Currently, all buildings have been completed and are entering the handover process to BGN.
"Today is in the process of handing over to BGN. The head of BGN wants to check one by one before they receive it, but in its entirety it has been completed," he said.
The construction of the MBG kitchen is carried out using two types of buildings. For kitchens serving less than 1,000 beneficiaries, the building is made to be about 10x15 meters. Meanwhile, for a capacity of more than 1,000 to 3,000 beneficiaries, a facility measuring about 20x20 meters is built.
In addition to the main building, each kitchen is also equipped with supporting facilities such as wastewater treatment facilities, drinking water supply systems to generator sets to keep operations running during power outages.
"Well, for the beneficiaries up to 1,000 to 3,000, we built 20x20 square meters of buildings, yes. But there are pluses, there are generators, wastewater treatment for SPAM, we also prepared it," he explained.
