The Top CSR Awards have been held every year since 2017, the number of participants has continued to increase. In 2026, the participants of the Top CSR Awards were screened from 1,000 companies in the long list of participants from various industrial sectors in Indonesia.

"Compared to the first time it was held, after a decade, the number of participants increased by more than 400%", said Lutfi, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of TopBusiness Magazine.
The Top CSR Awards are not only an appreciation event for companies that have successfully carried out CSR programs effectively and have an impact, but also a strategic learning forum for the national business world.
The Top CSR Awards are held based on the principles of ISO 26000 SR, ESG, and business strategy, so that the assessment is not only looking at the size of the company's CSR program.
But also assess the extent to which CSR has been integrated with business strategies, risk management, corporate sustainability, and long-term value creation.
"We believe that in today's era, CSR is no longer merely a philanthropic activity or a company's administrative obligation, but an important part of the corporate strategy to build business sustainability, strengthen the company's reputation, improve relations with stakeholders, and create shared value for society and the environment," said Lutfi.
Sustainable DevelopmentMeanwhile, in his speech as the keynote speaker at the event, the Deputy for Environmental Control and Damage of the Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency, Dr. Rasio Ridho Sani, conveyed a number of messages. According to him, in fact, the environmental regulator in Indonesia has been discussing CSR since 1995 through the Proper award.
"There, it was emphasized that in addition to paying attention to the environment, companies must pay attention to the surrounding community. We use this to measure the Proper element," he said.
Now, companies in Indonesia are very concerned about CSR. "We have also long encouraged sustainable development. In that case, if the Indonesian government and the business world work together, then the goal of sustainable development will be achieved."
There, not only thinking about profits, the company has steps to achieve sustainability. "So, the company must be profitable while meeting existing rules," he said.
Two Categories of ParticipantsChairman of the Jury Board of the Top CSR Awards 2026, Dr. Mas Achmad Daniri, conveyed a number of things. In the implementation of the Top CSR Awards 2026, the Jury Board developed a rating system by dividing participants into two categories, namely:
1. CSR Level Corporate; and 2. CSR Level Unit/Site/Program. In the CSR Level Corporate category, the assessment focuses on policies, strategies, CSR governance, ESG integration, and alignment with the company's business strategy.
Meanwhile, in the CSR Level Unit/Site/Program category, the assessment is more focused on the effectiveness of program implementation in the field, program innovation, community involvement, and the real impact on the environment and surrounding communities.
Daniri also explained several main aspects of the TOP CSR Awards 2026 assessment. These include:
• Alignment of CSR with business strategy; • Level of adoption of ISO 26000 principles; • Governance and CSR implementation system; • Innovation of flagship programs; • Contribution to ESG; • As well as the impact of program sustainability.
The implementation of CSR from the company is a form of contribution to the community. Especially the surrounding community which directly receives the impact of operations.
In order for corporate CSR programs to be more effective and mutually beneficial for all stakeholders, companies can also design and implement them through the approach of creating shared value (CSV) to provide benefits for all stakeholders and the company itself.
"Designing programs that provide mutual benefits should remain in line with business strategies. The further away from business strategies, the only thing that happens is to produce programs that are donations," said Daniri.
To align between the interests of the company and stakeholders, the company should strive to maximize the total benefits to profit, people and planet from the planning of the company's business strategy.
