This activity was attended by more than 200 students and was filled with the award presentation for eight outstanding Unpad students.
Also present at this event were, among others, the Rector of Unpad Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, Head of the Department of Regulation and Licensing of Innovation of Financial Technology Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets of OJK Djoko Kurnijanto, Head of the Supervision Directorate of Financial Services Institutions 1 OJK West Java Province Melati Usman, Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unpad Prof. Dian Masyita S.E., M.T., Ph.D, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Investortrust.id Abdul Aziz, SVP Strategy & Business PINTU Andy Putra, and Chief Marketing Officer PINTU Timothius Martin.
Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita, dr., Sp. M (K)., M. Kes., Ph.D, Rector of Unpad, in his speech conveyed the importance of financial literacy for students.
"It seems to be about financial literacy, even now crypto literacy and investment, this is a very important thing that we must understand together. Because we know now there are so many financial products, so many financial problems that if we don't learn well, if we don't know, then this will cause things that will be problems in the future, Therefore, I thank OJK, to Pintu, Investortrust and so on, for being able to share about this to all of us at Unpad. Hopefully this can be a useful thing for us to prepare for a better future," he explained.
Djoko Kurnijanto, Head of the Department of Regulation and Licensing of Innovation in the Financial Technology Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets, also gave advice to students about financial literacy.
"So we are facing two conditions. On the one hand, investment or financial literacy issues are a problem in themselves. However, when delving into it, there is another challenge related to crypto assets where there is still a gap between literacy and inclusion. This is what then makes us continue to take steps on how to make people who invest in crypto not just follow. The investment philosophy in OJK is still very relevant to that in crypto, namely pay attention to 2L, Legal and Logical. Make sure the list of digital financial assets is legal and make sure to transact with licensed exchanges or Digital Financial Asset Traders (PAKD) that are supervised by OJK and make sure it is logical and not easily tempted by investment offers that promise certain profits," he explained.
Timothius Martin, CMO PINTU highlighted the future of crypto adoption. According to him, in terms of adoption globally, there are around 700 million people who have traded or invested in crypto.
"Around 1 in 15. This means that out of every 15 people in the world, one person has ever traded or invested in crypto. In Indonesia, the adoption rate is currently around 21 million people, which is larger than stock investors. So the problem is not the adoption, the challenge is literacy and education. For this reason, PINTU, in collaboration with OJK, Universities, and Investortrust, held an educational and literacy event at campuses, the goal is to jointly provide education about crypto assets, especially to the future young generation, namely student friends, so that they can have a mature understanding before starting to invest," said Timo.
As the younger generation's interest in digital investment increases, the crypto industry continues to grow. Based on data from OJK as of February 2026, the number of crypto asset investors in Indonesia has reached 21.07 million. This trend is also reflected globally, the World Economic Forum notes that about 4 percent of Gen Z investors have crypto assets. This shows the high interest of the younger generation in digital investment and confirms the importance of strengthening financial literacy in the midst of this trend.
"In the midst of rapid industry developments and various global factors affecting the market, it is important for young people not only to follow trends, but also to understand investments in depth. We will continue to be committed to providing a learning space so that young people can build a mature understanding and make wise financial decisions," concluded Timo.
