JAKARTA - Passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, are still quite busy during the Lebaran homecoming transportation period. Departure and arrival passenger activity was high on Friday, March 20 at all terminals, both for domestic and international routes.

Based on flight plan data on Friday, March 20, the total aircraft movement at Soetta Airport reached 1,033 flights, consisting of 520 departures and 513 arrivals.

Meanwhile, the total number of passengers reached 138,954 people, with 81,497 departing passengers and 57,457 arriving passengers.

For distribution per terminal, Terminal 1 recorded 277 flights with 37,033 passengers. Terminal 2 for domestic flights served 273 flights with 34,233 passengers, while international flights were 97 flights with 13,629 passengers.

Meanwhile, Terminal 3 recorded 212 domestic flights with 25,908 passengers, as well as 161 international flights with a total of 28,151 passengers. In addition, there were 13 cargo flights that also operated to support logistics distribution during the homecoming period.

Although the peak of the homecoming flow has taken place, activity at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is expected to remain busy in the next few days as the Lebaran holiday period continues.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi said that from March 13 to March 19, 2026, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has cumulatively served 1,231,796 passengers with 8,211 aircraft movements or grew by 8.3 percent for passengers and 5.7 percent for aircraft movements compared to the same period last year.

"The increase in the number of passengers and aircraft movements shows the high mobility of the community during the Lebaran period, both for homecoming and vacation. This also reflects the public's confidence in air transportation services," said Heru, quoted by Antara.

He said this growth was driven mainly by an increase in domestic traffic which reached 918,268 passengers or an increase of 11.3 percent, while international traffic was relatively stable with 313,528 passengers.

According to him, the peak of the Lebaran 2026 reverse flow at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is predicted to occur on March 28, 2026, with an estimated movement of 198,387 passengers with 1,221 flights.

"We continue to ensure operational readiness across all lines, from facilities, personnel, to service flows, so that service users can continue to experience safe, comfortable, and smooth travel during the Lebaran transportation period," he said.
