JAKARTA - The Government Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) reiterates its commitment to oversee strategic infrastructure projects that are the government's priorities, especially those related to national connectivity.
Head of LKPP Sarah Sadiqa said that infrastructure projects are sensitive and complex sectors, so they require careful planning and procurement.
"Infrastructure is a sensitive, complex, expensive project, and requires serious preparation. LKPP wants to fully support the government's priority programs in this sector," Sarah told reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, February 12.
According to him, the presence of the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure is a strong signal of the government's attention to cross-sectoral coordination in regional development and infrastructure.
LKPP, he said, is ready to be directly involved in strengthening the governance of the procurement of goods and services in strategic projects.
Sarah added that the momentum of coordination was considered appropriate considering that the new budget ceiling would start running in February 2026.
"The new budget has started, so coordination from the beginning allows for more optimal achievement in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized that infrastructure is the backbone of national development which must be designed in an integrated manner, targeted, and prioritize quality and safety.
"Infrastructure is not only about being fast and cheap. Quality and safety must be the top priority," said AHY.
AHY emphasized that there was a development trilemma, namely fast, cheap.
These three things can ideally be an approach in designing programs, but they do not always go hand in hand.
He explained that if the cheapest cost approach is not always the best choice, then the speed of project implementation and good quality also have other consequences.
In addition to efficiency, according to him, quality and safety aspects must be the main priority so that the infrastructure built can provide a sense of security for the community.
AHY also highlighted the importance of precision and accuracy in the procurement process.
According to him, small differences in calculations can have a big impact on overall budgets and productivity.
On this occasion, AHY conveyed four main agendas.
First is to understand the global trend which is full of uncertainty.
"Second, the direction of national infrastructure development: what is the vision, mission, and directives or priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto," said AHY.
Third, the role of procurement in supporting infrastructure development. Fourth, strengthening collaboration between the Ministry of Infrastructure and LKPP.
He reminded that geopolitical dynamics, security challenges, and global technological disruptions must be responded to adaptively so that Indonesia does not lag behind other countries.
AHY hopes that the synergy between the government and LKPP can be further strengthened to ensure that infrastructure development is effective, efficient, and sustainable.
"We want Indonesia to be Gold 2045. But other countries also have the same ambition. This means that we do not live in a vacuum and must continue to make progress leaps," he said.
