Government Assures Fuel and Elpiji Stock is Safe, RI Will Seek Energy Imports of US $15 Billion

JAKARTA. The government ensures the availability of national energy, especially fuel and LPG, in a safe condition during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 2026.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia stated that energy stocks were at the national minimum level of around 18 days.

"BBM has a minimum limit of 18 days, everything is no problem," said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace Complex, Wednesday, February 11.

Bahlil said the supply of solar from the Balikpapan refinery was sufficient to meet domestic needs.

However, imports of high-quality solar are still carried out to meet certain specifications.

Meanwhile, the stock of non-subsidized gasoline, such as RON 92, RON 95, and RON 98, is also at a safe level.

In addition to ensuring supplies, the government is also discussing energy trade cooperation with the United States (US).

In the plan, Indonesia will buy energy worth 15 billion US dollars which includes liquefied petroleum gas, crude oil, and finished fuels.

"If it is a deal, the realization can be carried out this year," said Bahlil.

The plan to purchase energy is considered in line with the government's efforts to maintain energy security while strengthening bilateral trade relations.
