JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has contributed to the development of the Balikpapan Integrated Energy Infrastructure Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP), one of the National Strategic Projects that plays an important role in supporting Indonesia's energy security. SIG supplied 115,609 tons of building materials in the construction of the largest and most modern refinery in Indonesia which was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Built since 2019, the Balikpapan RDMP has become an important milestone in the development of integrated national energy infrastructure. The project includes a crude oil reception system, processing, and supporting the reliability of the entire energy supply chain.
RDMP itself is a project for the development and modernization of existing refineries, so it will increase the capacity of oil processing, produce high-quality and environmentally friendly fuels, encourage the downstream petrochemical industry, and strengthen national energy resilience.
SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, SIG is proud to be able to contribute to the development of a sophisticated and integrated energy ecosystem in Indonesia by supplying type V cement, namely DuPro+ HSR. SIG's involvement in the development of RDMP is also a form of support for President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita to encourage national independence through energy self-sufficiency, as well as continuing downstream and industrialization to increase added value in the country.
In this project, DuPro+ HSR cement from SIG was used to upgrade existing 1 refineries in the RDMP project. DuPro+ HSR itself is a cement with high sulfuric acid resistance and optimal chloride penetration, as well as having better initial and final compressive strength and durability.
High-strength cement in these extreme environments has also been applied to a number of projects, including the Karangkandri Power Plant, Pacitan Power Plant, Suralaya Power Plant, Pelabuhan Ratu Power Plant, Adipala Cilacap Power Plant, Indramayu Power Plant, Tenayan Riau Power Plant, Kalibaru Wharf and Youtefa Bridge.
"The contribution of SIG in the development of the RDMP project is a form of trust from stakeholders in SIG cement products which have proven to be of high quality and have become a mainstay across generations in the development of strategic infrastructure and masterpieces of national pride. With a wide network of production facilities and distribution networks, SIG is able to meet the needs of various development projects to remote areas with reliable supply and quality and quality of products that are maintained," said Vita Mahreyni.
