JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has provided free electricity supply for temporary housing (huntara) for residents affected by disasters in Aceh for 6 months.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that this policy aims to encourage the recovery of the community's post-disaster conditions, especially in meeting basic needs during the stay in the huntara. For information, this Huntara was established by Danantara.
"Danantara is building a temporary residential house, and we support it, whether it's for 6 months, yes, the electricity in our huntara is free," said Darmawan in a Public Hearing (RDP) with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Wednesday, January 21.
Darmawan said that not only did PLN free up electricity supply, but also free the cost of installing electricity and kWh meters in the huntara area.
"Then we also provide public street lighting, PJU, and also public facilities," continued Darmawan.
On the other hand, this red plate company also provides a new multi-purpose installation service at no cost as part of handling electricity needs at temporary housing locations.
Previously on January 9, the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) officially handed over 600 temporary housing units (huntara) to the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government.
The housing development was carried out by the ranks of BUMN works, including PT Hutama Karya (HK), PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA), PT Waskita Karya (WSKT), and PT Adhi Karya (ADHI).
Danantara emphasized that the huntara that was built met the standards for emergency housing, not just a place of refuge, but a decent living space for survivors.
The complex has a safe structure, decent sanitation, access to clean water, electricity, and health services.
Development also considers the recovery of people's social life.
Additional facilities such as basic service clinics, children's playgrounds, and free internet access are provided so that residents' activities can resume.
The government targets the construction of 15,000 huntara units in the next three months, with the main focus in Aceh Tamiang as the area most affected by flash floods and landslides.
