SURABAYA - East Java Governor (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa said the distribution of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) in East Java was in accordance with national regulations.
According to Kofifah, the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) received an award from the Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) at the end of 2025 in Jakarta, for its active role in issuing a recommendation letter for the purchase of Certain Fuel Types (JBT) and Special Fuel Types for Assignment (JBKP) through the XStar BPH Migas Application.
"I express my appreciation to all districts and cities in East Java for their commitment and cooperation in the implementation of the XStar BPH Migas Application. This award is an opportunity for us to continue to strengthen supervision and governance of the distribution of subsidized fuel so that it is truly appropriate and targeted, especially for people who are entitled to receive," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 4.
Khofifah said that East Java is a province with high economic activity and productive sectors so that energy needs are also very large.
"Through strengthening supervision and utilization of digital systems, we want to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel does not deviate from the target. With accountable governance, energy subsidies can truly provide justice and benefits for the community," he said.
BPH Migas has set the fuel quota for East Java in 2025 at 2,715,689 kiloliters (KL) for JBT and 4,358,878 KL for JBKP, with the realization of distribution of 2,240,737 KL and 3,212,481 KL respectively.
In addition to digitization, Khofifah emphasized the synergy between the East Java Provincial Government and BPH Migas as the key to maintaining the availability of subsidized fuel for farmers, fishermen, and other social sectors.
"This cross-level government synergy ensures the security of supply, reliability of stocks, and transparency of the distribution of subsidized fuel throughout East Java, so that the benefits can be felt fairly by the people who are entitled," he said.
Khofifah emphasized East Java's commitment to supporting the national energy sector policy.
"The East Java Provincial Government continues to be committed to supporting the national energy security program through strengthening the supervision of the provision and distribution of fuel and the transportation of natural gas in the downstream sector. With accountable governance and cross-level government synergy, we ensure equitable energy availability for the community," he said.
