JAKARTA - Danantara continues to accelerate the process of building hundreds of temporary housing (huntara) in Kuala Simpang, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Province, after the flood and landslide disasters.
"For the victims, the government has made it a huntara, not as a task because of the appeal but a duty, as conveyed by Danantara COO, Dony Oskaria. This is our duty," said Danantara Expert Khairul Jasmi as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, December 28.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to depart for Aceh Tamiang, one of whose agendas is to check the development of the huntara.
"President Prabowo will see the building on January 1, 2026. Of course, the main thing is to meet the flood victims," said Khairul Jasmi.
The huntara construction project is the result of collaboration between seven BUMN Karya, coordinated by BUMN Hutama Karya under the auspices of Danantara.
To speed up the work on the huntara, the workers work 24 hours with a shifting system.
"We work 24 hours a day with a shift system. In addition to bringing technicians from various regions, we also recruit 100 local workers to build around 120 complete huntara units," said Rony as Head of Infrastructure Division 2 Adhi Karya.
Each unit consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, and is equipped with electricity and water installations.
Currently, the number of refugees in Aceh Tamiang is recorded at around 150,000 people.
"For them, the huntara was built," added Khairul Jasmi.
Based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Saturday (27/12), in Aceh 511 people died, 31 people were missing, and 429,557 refugees were displaced due to flash floods and landslides.
