JAKARTA - The Telkom Akses Construction Directorate has recorded a significant spike in network development throughout 2025, with a 1,250,000 deployment of Optical Distribution Point (ODP) Fiber to The Home (FTTH) ports that have been operational (go live).

This achievement is almost double compared to the 2024 realization which was at 653,000 ports.

In the midst of changes in the TelkomGroup corporate landscape, this performance is an important indicator of the business unit's ability to create added value.

Telkom Akses Construction Director, Sinung Wibowo, said the increase was the result of adjusting the network development strategy, which was no longer solely pursuing speed and quality, but also volume and efficiency. According to him, this approach is in line with the direction of TelkomGroup, which is now in the Danantara ecosystem, where each entity is required to show real business contributions.

"Entering 2025, we carry the tagline Faster, Better, More. If 2024 focuses on speed and quality, this year we also encourage the number of massive developments. Telkom wants to build as much as possible and as efficiently as possible. That's what we answer through increased productivity," said Sinung in a written statement, Sunday, December 28.

He revealed that by the end of the year, the achievement of development would still be boosted towards the target of 1,340,000 ODP ports.

The increase in volume occurred amid adjustments to lower work prices compared to the previous year, so efficiency is a crucial factor in maintaining performance.

"Even though the price has been reduced, we can build twice as much. This shows that our work is becoming more efficient, but the output produced is much larger," said Sinung.

Entering 2026, the challenges of the Construction Directorate are considered increasingly complex in line with TelkomGroup's consolidation in the Danantara ecosystem. In the corporate structure, each entity is required to be able to provide sustainable added value in order to remain relevant.

"If it does not add value, the company could be out. Therefore, the Construction Directorate must prove its contribution," said Sinung.

One of the strategic steps that is being driven is the strengthening of the pattern of self-management of construction. The Construction Directorate targets a self-management portion of 55 percent by 2026, as an effort to increase cost efficiency, profitability, as well as operational independence.

"The jobs that come will be expanded through swakelola. The challenge is to educate friends in the field who used to play the role of waspang, to become reliable manpower managers," he explained.

He emphasized that the public-private partnership scheme must be able to prove better performance than the partnership model, especially in the context of internal competitiveness under Danantara.

Telkom Akses' Construction Directorate currently handles the construction of fiber optic network infrastructure end-to-end, ranging from pulling underground and aerial cables to the termination process and integration into the national operational system.

In addition to supporting TelkomGroup's expansion, this unit is also trusted to work on network projects for external operators such as Tower Bersama Group (TBG), IForte, Jala Lintas Media (JLM), MyRepublic, and others.

With the surge in performance throughout 2025 and the strengthened efficiency strategy going forward, the Telkom Akses Construction Directorate positions itself as one of the units that seeks to maintain the relevance and contribution of the business in the midst of the TelkomGroup corporate transformation in the Danantara ecosystem.
