JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) recorded peak load on Christmas Eve reaching 44.5 gigawatt (GW), with a capacity of 70.8 GW, so there is still sufficient power reserves.

"We need to convey that the peak load on Christmas Eve reached 44.5 GW with a capacity of 70.8 GW. Therefore, the condition of the electricity supply last night is very safe because there is still sufficient power reserves," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, quoted by Antara.

He explained that 69 thousand PLN personnel spread across 3,402 posts throughout Indonesia are still on standby 24 hours nonstop to escort the reliability of electricity supply until the end of the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) Standby period.

"The priority of electricity security is given to vital objects and centers of community activities, such as places of worship, hospitals, airports, stations, terminals, to shopping centers, all of which are supported by a layered electricity supply scheme," said Darmawan.

Not only that, the standby personnel are also equipped with 1,917 units of generator sets (Genset), 737 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 1,338 units of Mobile Switchyard (UGB), 434 units of crane trucks, 4,720 units of operational vehicles, and 4,412 units of motorcycles.

Darmawan added that his party also ensured the adequacy of primary energy for all power plants in a safe condition and was reflected in the calculation of the Power Plant Operation Day (HOP).

"On average, our power plant operating days are at a safe level, with coal stocks above 21 days, gas above 22 days, and fuel oil above 10 days of operation. This availability includes plants in the outermost, leading, and lagging regions (3T)," said Darmawan.

Darmawan also invited the public to use the PLN Mobile application to report any disturbances or needs related to electricity services.

"Every customer report will be followed up in real time through PLN Mobile and customers will receive notifications if there is an outage in their area," said Darmawan.
