JAKARTA - PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) has paid out compensation claims for Asuransi Mikro Usahaku worth Rp105 million to dozens of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) built by Alfamart that were affected by flooding in North Sumatra, Aceh and West Sumatra.
The claim includes the risk of flooding and also severe damage to businesses. This payment is specifically given to Alfamart's MSMEs who have been registered as participants in the Micro Insurance protection cooperation between Askrindo and Alfamart.
Askrindo President Director, M. Fankar Umran, said Askrindo always put the interests of the insured as a priority. He also said, the payment of this claim is a tangible proof of the company's commitment to accompany MSMEs so that they can immediately recover after the disaster.
"We ensure that the claim process is fast, accurate, and transparent. With the payment of this claim, we hope that MSMEs can continue their business activities after the conditions improve," said Fankar in a written statement, Friday, December 19.
Askrindo also emphasized the availability of two complementary microinsurance products, namely Asuransi Mikro Usahaku with compensation of up to IDR 5 million, and Asuransi Mikro Rumahku with compensation of up to IDR 20 million.
Through the expansion of the use of microinsurance, Askrindo invites all stakeholders to strengthen the protection ecosystem for MSMEs and the community so that they are more resilient to risks.
Meanwhile, Askrindo Business Director, Budhi Novianto, said that microinsurance has a strategic role in maintaining business sustainability as well as increasing risk literacy among MSMEs.
"Through Asuransi Mikro Usahaku, MSMEs are no longer worried about the sustainability of their business because there is protection when disasters such as floods occur," said Budhi.
Acceleration of Recovery
PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) through the Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program held a trauma healing activity in collaboration with the West Sumatra Provincial Education Office and supported by the Child Protection Commission.
Trauma healing is part of the healing process for disaster-affected residents, especially children, to divert prolonged trauma. This trauma healing program is a tangible manifestation of the company's concern in handling post-disaster children through educators.
Director of Compliance, HR and Risk Management of Askrindo, R Mahelan Prabantarikso said that post-disaster recovery does not only focus on physical assistance, but also on the mental health of children as vulnerable groups through educators and the community.
"So with the role of teachers, children will be faster to divert the bad things that happen to them," said Mahelan.
