JAKARTA - The Korean skincare brand, Sungboon Editor, has officially entered the Indonesian market through an exclusive partnership with Sociolla.

This step is part of Sungboon Editor's global expansion strategy amid the increasing demand of Indonesian consumers for science-based, safe, and long-term oriented skin care products.

Sungboon Editor's entry into Indonesia reflects the still wide open business opportunities in the national beauty industry, especially in the Korean skincare segment which continues to record positive growth.

The brand, which has been present in more than 40 countries, carries the philosophy of "Fine Ingredients. Definite Effect.", which is an approach to formulation that focuses on the quality of ingredients, the balance of active ingredients, and measurable effectiveness.

Sungboon Editor Yewon Wang said Indonesia is a strategic market in the Southeast Asian region, especially because of the increasingly selective and health-conscious consumer character.

"Indonesia has a tropical climate with specific environmental challenges. Therefore, we see a strong need for products with stable, lightweight, and safe formulations for long-term use," he said.

In terms of retail partners, Sociolla assessed that the presence of Sungboon Editor is in line with the shift in consumer preferences towards science-based skincare.

Co-founder and CMO of Social Bella Indonesia Chrisanti Indiana revealed that the Korean skincare category in the Sociolla ecosystem grew 55 percent year-on-year compared to 2024.

"Our data shows that consumers now prioritize products with claims to strengthen the skin barrier, clean ingredients, and dermatologist tested. This indicates an increasingly high level of market maturity," said Chrisanti.

This growth is also supported by internal research from SOCO Insight Factory, which recorded a significant increase in the search for skincare products with a scientific approach and dermatological safety.

This condition opens up room for brands with premium positioning based on research such as Sungboon Editor to compete in the Indonesian market.

Currently, Sungboon Editor presents three main lines that target different skin needs, ranging from sebum and pore control, gentle exfoliation, to stable brightening.

Its products are also strengthened with advanced ingredients such as Marine Astaxanthin, Silk Peptide, and Deep Collagen, which are added value in terms of product differentiation.

Sungboon Editor has been marketed in Indonesia since October 2025 and is now available at 29 Sociolla outlets spread across Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, Bali, to Batam.

The company targets wider distribution expansion in 2026, in line with Sociolla's omnichannel strategy.

With the growth of the national skincare market still solid and the changing behavior of consumers becoming more rational, the presence of Sungboon Editor is projected to tighten competition in the premium Korean skincare segment, while strengthening Indonesia's position as one of the largest beauty markets in Southeast Asia.
