JAKARTA - Four crucial points will be the focus of security for the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the National Police's Korlantas in finalizing preparations for the 2025 Christmas and New Year 2026 (Nataru) Transportation.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said these four crucial points were the focus of security because they were predicted to be the center of density.

The four points are toll roads and arterial roads, ferry ports, places of worship, and tourist destinations and new year celebration centers.

Therefore, Dudy emphasized cross-sectoral cooperation as the key to the smooth mobility of the community during the year-end holiday period.

"Our hope is that the implementation of Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 transportation can run safely, safely and smoothly. We hope that collaboration between institutions to support the smooth running of this transportation can continue to run well for the sake of service to the community," said Dudyd in a written statement, Friday, December 12.

The Ministry of Transportation together with the National Police's Korlantas itself has also prepared four steps to anticipate handling the Nataru crowd. First, engineering related to traffic management on toll roads and arterial roads as the main target for traffic control.

Second, ensure that the crossing service at the port runs smoothly, especially on potentially crowded routes, such as the Merak-Ciwandan-BBJ and Ketapang-Gilimanuk areas.

"A number of regulatory scenarios such as queue arrangement, port access arrangement, and operational coordination with operators have been prepared to prevent congestion. Anticipation of bad weather has also been prepared," said Dudy.

Third, continued Dudy, security for places of worship and mobility during the peak of Christmas and New Year celebrations so that people's movements remain orderly and safe. Integrated posts, joint teams, and a number of personnel have been alerted.

Finally, the management of the flow to and from tourist destinations is expected to increase after the peak of the holiday.

"The route to the tourist area and the points of high density are prepared through traffic arrangements, placement of officers, and strengthening of travel information so that the public can choose a safer time and route," he said.
