Pelni Will Replace 9 Old Ships Until 2030

PT Pelasero Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni plans to increase the replacement of the passenger ship fleet by a total of nine units by 2030.

President Director of Pelni, Tri Andayani, said that this replacement program only includes three ships through state capital participation (PMN).

Meanwhile, six additional ships will be submitted at the next stage.

"This is not adding a fleet. But replacing old ships. The first three ships, then the next six replaces (units)," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 10.

You, as he is familiarly called, said that the plan to add the six ships was included in the Company's Long-Term Plan (RJPP) from 2025 to 2030.

"We will do the study in 2028. Then we submit it to the government so that in 2029 if approved, we can start construction in 2030," he said.

Regarding the funding source for the six second phase ships, you continued, there are two options, namely through the State Budget with the PMN scheme or financing from the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI).

On the other hand, you continued, Pelni faces challenges because the fleet she currently owns is old.

In fact, he said, about 14 ships were recorded as over 30 years old.

Dana tersebut digunakan untuk pengadaan tiga kapal penumpang baru.

“Kemarin baru hari Senin diputuskan pencairan PMN 2025 untuk pengadaan tiga unit kapal penumpang Pelni. Itu baru menggantikan ya, belum menambah. Karena memang usia kapal kami ini dari 26 untuk per tahun 2025 ini sudah ada 14 kapal yang usianya di atas umur teknis 30 tahun,” ujarnya.

Karena itu, kata Anda, baru-baru ini Komisi XI DPR juga sudah menyetujui PMN untuk Pelni sebesar Rp2,5 triliun.
