BPK Finds 1 Billion 3 Kg LPG Tubes Enjoyed By Able People

JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) found that the distribution of 3 kg LPG was not on target during the first semester of 2025.

BPK through the Summary of the Semester Examination Results (IHPS) I-2025 wrote that if the government and the assignment business entity, Pertamina Patra Niaga has not set the criteria for consumer users, so that 3 kg LPG control and supervision or distribution has not been carried out optimally.

"All groups of people, including those classified as Non-Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and Non-Eased Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE), can carry out transactions to purchase 3 kg LPG cylinders through the Merchant Apps Pangkalan (MAP) application," BPK wrote as quoted on Wednesday, December 10.

The results of the examination showed that during 2024 there was a distribution of 3 kg LPG cylinders to the Non-DTKS community as much as 1,107,182,088 or 1.11 billion tubes or 3,321,546,264 3.32 billion kg with a subsidy value of Rp33.84 trillion (including taxes).

With this leak, BPK considers that subsidies do not provide optimal results to achieve poverty alleviation goals and help people who are entitled to receive them.

For this reason, BPK recommends the president director of PT VAT to coordinate with the government, in this case the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to immediately establish policies that ensure the control and accuracy of the 3 kg LPG distribution targets.

"Distribution can be done through the use of population databases that can meet the criteria for subsidy recipients," said BPK.
