UK Oil And Gas Company Until Vietnam Aims For Indonesian Oil And Gas Fields

JAKARTA - Head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Production Improvement/Lifting Migas Nanang Abdul Manaf revealed that there are foreign Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) who are interested in working on oil fields in Indonesia.

Nanang revealed that this result was obtained after his party carried out a roadshow to the UK to offer oil and gas blocks in Indonesia.

"This is a team that shows to London, there are 30 investors present, including large companies such as BP, Shell, Equinor, Equinor first Star Oil, from Norway," said Nanang, Wednesday, December 3.

Furthermore, continued Nanang, another KKKS that is interested is EnQuest, an oil and gas exploration and production company based in the UK. Just so you know, currently EnQuest is doing a joint study at WK Migas Gaea, West Papua.

Not only that, Indonesia's oil and gas working area is also looked at by newcomers such as Upper Resources Limited who are interested in 3 oil and gas blocks in Indonesia.

Nanang continued, the CPC Corporation from Taiwan has also expressed interest and asked for direct communication with the Task Force for technical assistance.

"From Taiwan, there is a CPC. Well, they are also interested, even asking for direct communication with our team, yes, to get advice," explained Nanang.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung, revealed that Indonesia has the potential for 128 oil and gas basins. Of that number, 20 basins have been worked on, leaving 108 basins with great potential. To complete oil and gas potential data, the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will accelerate the availability of data, both 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional survey data, as well as exploration data, which can be a completeness of exploration data.

"Hopefully, ladies and gentlemen, when the working area is offered to business entities, both in the context of a consortium or in the context of a joint venture, it is welcome. So we hope that later on for all domestic oil and gas potentials we can optimize it in the context of resilience and energy adequacy in the country," Yuliot explained.
