The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Targets Oil Lifting In 2026 Of 610.000 Barrels Per Day

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) targets oil lifting in 2026 at 610.00 barrels per day. Meanwhile, the realization until November 2026 has reached 610.000 BPH.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung said that every year the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources does increase the target of lifting to pursue the target of 1 million barrels per day.

"Every year there will be an increase in production targets. The target in 2026 is 610.000 bpd, in 2027 there will be an increase of around 700.000 bpd and 2028 of 800,000 bpd," said Yuliot, Wednesday, December 3.

Meanwhile, in 2029 the government is targeting 900,000 bpd.

Yuliot said that the addition of 100,000 barrels of production is not an easy matter because Contractors of Cooperation Contracts (KKKS) often face difficulties in the field.

To support increased production and lifting, Yuliot continued, the government has done several things, including accelerating licensing. Moreover, he said, licensing is often a scourge for KKKS because it takes a long time.

"The government has tried to simplify various permits through electronically integrated licensing," said Yuliot.

Furthermore, the conditions that are often experienced by KKKS in the field are often haunted by security problems. When there is investment that enters one area, there are often parties who feel they have an interest in coming and disturbing investment activities.

According to Yuliot, upstream oil and gas investment activities should be proposed as vital national objects (obvitnas) so that they can be secured by the authorities such as the TNI and Polri.

"So from SKK MIgas and KKKS if there are problems, adjustments can be made," he said.
