JAKARTA - The state-owned construction issuer, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WSKT) received a contract value of IDR 1.16 trillion from the government for the People's School (SR) development project in East Java.
The SR Phase II work contract was signed at the Office of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), Jakarta, recently.
Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita said the project was a form of the company's commitment to supporting the government's strategic programs, especially related to improving community welfare.
According to him, SR is designed to provide access to quality education for children from poor families. The program also supports the agenda of improving the quality of human resources towards the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.
The SR project in East Java will be built in four districts and one city, namely Gresik, Jombang, Sampang, Tuban and Surabaya.
"Waskita Karya is trying to complete the People's School project optimally and on time," said Ermy, quoted from a written statement, Tuesday, December 2.

As for mid-November, WSKT has also obtained SR projects in South Sulawesi worth IDR 1.23 trillion, covering five districts, namely Wajo, Sidrap, Tana Toraja, Soppeng and Barru.
Director of Operations I Waskita Karya Ari Asmoko said that the signing of the contract marked the company's role in supporting the government's priority education infrastructure development program which focuses on increasing human resources (HR) in Eastern Indonesia.
The target is that all school buildings can be completed by mid-2026.
