JAKARTA - The commitment of PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul (SIDO) in caring for the medicinal plant ecosystem and assisting natural MSMEs has again received appreciation at the national level. BPOM conferred the 2025 ProACTIVE Award to Sido Muncul for its contribution to the Collaborative MSME Lifting Parent Program (PROAKTIF).
Head of BPOM, Prof. dr. Taruna Ikrar, M.Biomed., Ph.D, handed over the award to Sido Muncul Director, Dr. (HC) Irwan Hidayat, during the BPOM Supervision Transformation: Launch of AI Service and Strengthening of MSME Lifting Partnerships at Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Building, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 28.
Irwan expressed his respect for BPOM's appreciation and emphasized Sido Muncul's commitment to continue to strengthen the national natural medicine industry.
"I am honored to receive this award for helping MSMEs. Our natural wealth is great and can be utilized," said Irwan.
He emphasized his determination as an 'excellent parent' who will continue to accompany MSMEs. Irwan also highlighted the biggest challenge in the natural medicinal sector, namely public literacy.
"The problem is how to explain to the public what this natural material uses. If literacy increases, MSMEs will grow," he explained.
As a concrete contribution, Sido Muncul is now compiling literature research that can be accessed by the public and MSME actors. This information is expected to encourage product quality improvement and expand the market.
