AKARTA - The West Java (Jabar) Provincial Government has signed a collaboration with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) regarding the development of rail transportation services.
The agreement was announced by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin.
One of the points of cooperation is the plan to operate a tourism train that connects Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur. The train is named Jakarta Lalana.
"Today, the West Java Provincial Government and all regents and mayors throughout West Java Province were witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Transportation and we are committed to the President Director of PT KAI to develop a Jakarta Tourism Train, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur, his name is Jakarta Lalana," said KDM quoted from a video upload on its official Instagram account @dedimulyadi71, Thursday, November 27.
Based on information from the West Java Provincial Government's Tourism and Culture Office, the train will be officially released in mid-December 2025. In addition, the cooperation also includes the development of the Padjajaran Flash Train connecting the Jakarta "Bandung" route.

Dedi said the train would cut the travel time to 1 to 1.5 hours of travel. The train service will also be applied to the Garut 'Tasikmalaya' Banjar route with an estimated travel time of about 2 hours.
