Trade Minister Claims Price Of Controlled Basic Materials Ahead Of Nataru

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso claimed that the prices of basic commodities ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) were well controlled.

In fact, he said, there was no price spike.

Furthermore, Budi also said that the average cost of basic commodities is also still below the highest retail price (HET) and the reference selling price (HAP).

"No price has soared and all are approaching the highest retail price or reference price. So everything is quite stable," Budi said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 26.

Budi said, his party will also continue to monitor price developments in the market ahead of the Nataru period.

"We will continue to monitor the supply and needs of the community ahead of Nataru," he said.

Budi also admitted that he would meet suppliers and distributors so that the prices of basic necessities as long as Nataru can be controlled.

"Next week we will coordinate with distributors, with suppliers. We convey to friends that the current prices of basic necessities are relatively well controlled," he said.

In addition, Budi said that his party was also finalizing the revision of the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) regarding the distribution of Oilita soon to be completed. Through this regulation, Food SOEs will get a distribution portion of 35 percent.

"We are changing the distribution of the Oil Oil policy. The distribution of cooking oil will be at least 35 percent distributed by the Food SOEs, namely Bulog and ID FOOD, the process of change is almost complete," he said.

Budi menargetkan revisi Permendag dapat ditandatangani sebelum momentum Natal 2025 dan Tahun Baru 2026 (Nataru). Dengan begitu, Budi berharap distribusi minyak goreng rakyat menjadi lebih baik.

“Kemarin sudah harmonisasi dan nanti akan dilanjutkan hari Kamis untuk harmonisasinya. Kemudian setelah selesai harmonisasi, Pemendag sudah dapatkan ditandatangani, sehingga pada Nataru ini distribusi minyak goreng akan lebih baik,” ujarnya.

Budi targets the revision of the Permendag to be signed before the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) momentum. That way, Budi hopes that the distribution of people's cooking oil will be better.

"Yesterday it was harmonized and it will be continued on Thursday for harmonization. Then after the harmonization has been completed, the Rider has been signed, so that in Nataru the distribution of cooking oil will be better," he said.
