Lifting Task Force Shows Highest 2025 Lifting Achievements Since 2016

JAKARTA - Head of the Task Force (Satgas) for the Acceleration of Production Improvement/Lifting Migas Nanang Abdul Manaf showcased that the realization of national oil lifting has succeeded in being the highest since 2016.

Nanang said that the realization of oil lifting is currently in the range of 582,000 barrels per day (BOPD), greater than the achievement throughout 2024 of 580,000 BOPD.

"Or if Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) is included, the equivalent of an average of 607 thousand BOPD, it will be the first production increase since 2016," said Nanang, quoted on Wednesday, November 26.

Nanang said that the increase in lifting was supported by the development of several fields that succeeded in doing online throughout 2025, such as Medco E&P's South Natuna Beach, namely Forel Field and Terubuk Siput.

These two fields, he said, contributed 20,000 barrels of oil per day and 60,000 standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD).

"We continue to be challenged to increase national oil and gas production, which declines every year at a rate of 3 percent-7 percent per year even though various efforts have been made to maintain production," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Djoko Siswanto targeted oil lifting by the end of 2025 to reach 606,000 to 607,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

Just so you know, based on the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), the 2025 lifting target is set at 605,000 BOPD.

"It could be that the total lifting will be around 606,000 or 607,000 barrels of oil per day," said Djoko in a Hearing Meeting with Commission XII of the DPR RI, quoted Thursday, November 13.

Meanwhile, until now the realization of oil production has reached 606,020 barrels of oil per day.

Djoko hopes that this oil production achievement can last until the end of 2025

"Well, hopefully this can last until December, so that all the oil produced, which is accommodated in temporary tanks, before the tanker arrives, we will collect it until the end of December, we will lift it," he continued.

In terms of production, Djoko estimates that oil production by the end of the year will be 625,000 BOPD.
