JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. (PGAS) or PGN reported that the need for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2026 will reach 19 cargoes.

PGN President Director Arief Kurnia Rusdianto said that his party needed five LNG cargoes to meet customer needs by 2026.

"In 2026, PGN will need 19 LNG cargo in total, and now we have been able to secure 14 LNG cargoes," said PGN President Director Arief Kurnia Rusdianto, quoted Tuesday, November 18.

Arief explained that the remaining 5 cargoes are still being discussed together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) in order to get additional cargo supply solutions.

Arief said that so far his party has received full support from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Oil and Gas SKK for LNG supplies throughout 2025.

On the other hand, Arief also asked for support from Commission XII to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding affordability to pay or affordability for PGN customers, especially for industrial customers.

For this reason, he asked for support in terms of volume availability or supply and in terms of price that can be absorbed by customers.

"That's a competitive price so that PGN can fully support the natural gas needs needed by all industries in Indonesia," he continued.

Meanwhile, in terms of infrastructure, Arief again asked for support in the form of the Oil and Gas Law which is being discussed by the DPR.

Moreover, he said, PGN manages 95 percent of the total gas infrastructure in Indonesia.

"This infrastructure must be built in an integrated and harmonious manner so that efficiency and effectiveness occur in terms of development as well as in terms of utilization," said Arief.
